Lampard has put a lot of trust in young players in his first season, where he was responsible for the blues, among other things Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, Reece James and Fikayo Tomori regularly play on the first team.
It was a successful trick from the new boss. Chelsea finished fourth in the Premier League and well positioned to reach the next season’s Champions League, despite last summer’s transfer ban and no signings in January.
Former blues man Jarosik, however, believes Lampard needs to add experience to his squad as young players lead to inconsistencies.
“Moving from Derby to Chelsea is another pressure,” said Jarosik gate. “Chelsea is a phenomenon today and one of the largest clubs in the world, so this job is not going to be easy.”
“From the beginning, he was in a difficult situation without being able to involve players. You went with a young team. If you want to fight for the title, I think you need some players with more experience because the Premier League is very difficult.
“They have become inconsistent, which is related to the youth and the quality of the league. A lot of people came [back] loaned to Chelsea from smaller clubs. I think Chelsea will look far ahead of the transfer window after he hasn’t signed anyone yet. “
Lampard had already secured his first signing of the summer when Hakim Ziyech arrived from Ajax.
The 27-year-old has won silver in the Netherlands and has a lot of experience in the Champions League, but will play in England for the first time. Jarosik believes Chelsea will need more than just the Moroccan international.
“I think they need more than one player in Hakim Ziyech because they need a bank that will help them fight for a title too,” said the Czech. “You have to be stronger to win the biggest games.”
Jarosik was one of the darkest signings of Jose Mourinho’s first responsibility for Chelsea when he bought the midfielder from CSKA Moscow in January 2005 for around £ 3m.
The 6’5 ” giant would play 14 league games this season and win the Premier League title and League Cup before borrowing from Birmingham next season and never playing for Chelsea again.
